THE PLACES OF MYSTICISM: SPIRITUALITY OF LEADERSHIP
– A Retreat/Workshop for Elected Leaders

Facilitators: Bette Moslander, CSJ and Marcia Allen, CSJ

Sometimes the role of leadership in religious communities is so absorbing that the leader feels that she/he must put their personal inner life on hold; or, one’s inner life simply gets lost in the demands on one’s commitment to the welfare of the community. The content and process in this retreat/workshop are designed to help religious women and men who are currently serving in elected leadership positions to deepen their own faith commitment, sustain their personal spiritual journey during their years of community service, and at the same time act as spiritual leaders for their communities.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES: Life after Elected Leadership
Facilitators: Bette Moslander, CSJ and Marcia Allen, CSJ

Are you an elected leader in a community of religious women who is leaving office in 6 to 18 months? Or perhaps you left office within the past one or two years and are still in transition. In either case, you find yourself in a process of discernment about the next step in your life. Are you confused by too many options or perhaps nothing attracts you? Are you concerned that you may make too hasty a decision about your post-leadership years? This mini-retreat is an opportunity to begin to integrate the demanding and sometimes stressful and hectic years of leadership, to discern prayerfully where you want to go and what you want to do next.

SPIRITUALITY OF LEADERSHIP
For Administrators/Coordinators/Supervisors of Religious Community Institutions

Facilitators: Bette Moslander, CSJ and Marcia Allen, CSJ

This workshop/retreat is for women or men, lay or religious who are leaders in motherhouses or province houses, long-term care or assisted living residences, or other kinds of hospitality centers which are homes for groups of women or men religious or combinations of homes and other kinds of activities. It is for those who are appointed to positions of leadership in a complex organizational system and have multiple tasks of creating a nurturing environment for diverse residents while maintaining a healthy infrastructure.

How do you care for your own soul in the midst of your challenges? What is the spirituality of leadership that is integral to these positions? If the answer to burnout is passion for one’s work, then how is passion nurtured and sustained?

These questions are central to this five-day experience. In the companionship of others with similar experiences of leadership, you will have time for sharing, reflection, prayer, relaxation, and input – all the while uncovering gifts that enhance you personally for the good of the community you lead.
